Applications of ENOTEC Products in the Chemical Sector

In many parts of the chemical industry OXITEC® analysing systems are being used.

Here are some examples of ENOTEC applications. Our chemical industry experience is not only confined to Oxygen Measuring Systems.  We have for example also produced for a well-known chemical company in Germany, a complete Process & Emission Measurement System. (See below).

Oxygen Measuring System in a Hydrochloric Acid Residue Incineration Plant

 

ENOTEC installed, on the 17th of June 1999, an Oxygen Measuring System consisting of a KIS-2001 probe made of INCOLOY with the MLT - multi layer option cell and 1 Metre insertion KSR cooling protection tube for process temperatures up to 1800°C, and an SME4 Electronics with instrument reference air set.

The measuring probe with cooling tube measures in the raw flue gas after the kiln in a flue gas temperature of 1350°C, and has operated continuously without any problems.

During this continuous operation, now more than two years, not one part of the system has failed, been changed or repaired.

The customer's routine 3-monthly calibration of the instrument shows that there has been no deviation from the original factory calibration data, proving the unique quality and consistency of ENOTEC manufacturing cell production.

Interestingly at the same measuring point, the customer had previously tried some other manufacturers instruments were their maximum working life was only 1 week!


 

Oxygen Measuring System on a Sulphuric Acid Cracker Installation

Our OXITEC® analysing systems have been used on this sulphuric acid cracker furnace installation since 1998.

The oxygen measuring probe KIS-2001 made of INCOLOY with MLT cell and a 1 metre cooling protection tube with a special design with a shortened cooling length for temperatures up to 1800°C, operates in the raw gas after kiln in a temperature of  about 1050°C.

The percentage of sulphur varies between 6 and 12 vol.% SO2, according to the load and operation of the plant.

Since the solving the corrosion/dew-point problems, the unit has operated without any problems since 1999.

In March 2001 the first of two installations, each with two analysing systems, is in continuous operation.

In autumn 2001 ENOTEC has fitted out the second installation with OXITEC oxygen analysing systems.

Because of the corrosive atmosphere in the process area, the electronics and the calibration and reference test gas components are installed inside a glass fibre (GFK) mounting case.

The oxygen analysing systems are used for regulation of combustion air, and in future, they will optimize the operation when using pure oxygen to minimize the costs of combustion for maximum efficiency.


Analysing System for a Vinylformamid Installation

In December 2000 ENOTEC received an order for the complete analysing system for a new vinylformamid installation. 

The analyser system, which was installed by ENOTEC in a special analysing container, is mounted on the roof of the installation, and was commissioned in July 2001.

Measurements for quality control in the combustion chamber for NO, O2, CO, CO2 are lodged into the analyser system as well as the emission measurements for CO, NO, O2, temperatures and volume flow.

After the end of the trial operation the emission evaluation computer with visualization was mounted in the measuring station and put into operation in November of 2001. The emission data is transmitted to the PLS by MODBUS and be used there for the control of the process.

ENOTEC has completely fulfilled the requirements of the customer using both, our own products together with approved OEM products.
